Part-time, 20 hours per week - onsite

$18-$22/hour

Our client in Wilson is seeking a Regional Bookkeeper.

Regional Bookkeeper

Areas of Responsibility

• Prepare monthly report of Disciples Mission Fund receipts and submit to General Office (Treasury Services)
• Prepare semi-annual donor giving statements with appropriate thank you letters
• Process monthly payroll and contractor payments utilizing Gusto software
• Prepare quarterly sales tax collected report and remit payment
• Maintain all financial files, hard copy and digital
• Prepare semi-annual sales tax refund request
• Consult with CPA staff as needed or directed by Treasurer
• Assure that all bills are paid timely either by automatic draft, online payment or check
• Prepare financial reports as requested by Treasurer; work closely with Finance Committee and Treasurer
• Record all receipts and expenditures utilizing Aplos software
• Prepare reports and files as needed for monthly or quarterly review by CPA providing oversight
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
• Assure that all year end reports related to payroll and contractors are filed with IRS, SSA, NCDOR, etc.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred
• Strong organizational skills to assure time management and task completion
• A successful background check is required
• Basic understanding of fund accounting for religious nonprofit organization
• Willingness to cross train and cover for Office Administrator as needed
• Ability to learn Aplos accounting software and Gusto payroll software
• Applicants with 1-3 years in bookkeeping experience required
