The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Program Coordinator - Therapeutic Recreation. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits.

Who We Are Looking For


Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, collaboration, and inclusion. We are looking for someone with experience planning, conducting, coordinating, and supervising. adaptive or therapeutic recreation inclusion activities and programs.. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving the community and creating accessible, memorable experiences for individuals with disabilities.


Minimum Qualifications


  • First Aid and CPR/AED certifications; and
  • Valid Arizona Driver's license with acceptable driving record; and
  • Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field; and
  • Three (3) years' of experience in therapeutic recreation services, or directly related field, including at one year of previous supervisory experience; and


Desired Qualifications


  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from a nationally recognized organization
  • Staff board liaison experience with an understanding of Roberts Rules of Order
  • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP)

The position available is regular full-time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.
