Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare medical records for new admissions and enter all information into system in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with others, respect diverse opinions and styles, acknowledge the assistance and contributions of others, and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Embody the company standard as a high-quality care provider.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership.
  • Communicate to the appropriate parties, promptly and clearly, all messages and material directed to them through the business office.
  • Receive all persons who enter the facility in a courteous manner.
  • Inform, guide, direct or otherwise assists residents, visitors, staff or vendors tactfully and congenially to present the best possible image of the facility.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness protocols & drills.
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Open and close the reception desk and properly secure all files, keys and equipment in the office area.
  • Demonstrate confidence and success with multiple, high level, time sensitive tasks.
  • Generate, maintain and print documents necessary for resident care.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail as appropriate in accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health policy.
  • Manage and operate equipment safety and correctly.
  • Update room and census as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
  • Demonstrate computer competence for data entry and provide administrative support to Administration and department managers as needed utilizing office suite applications.


Educational Requirements


  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications and software
  • High School (or equivalent) required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience as an Administrative Assistant, Office Administrator, of Front Office Manager highly preferred


Qualifications/Skills:


  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in working within a skilled nursing, short term rehabilitative environment.
  • Excellent verbal, organizational and communication skills.
