Job Description
Greet and assist visitors. Answer the phone and direct calls to the appropriate person and/or take messages.


  • Maintain patient privacy in all matters.
  • Assist in day to day clerical tasks as needed in the office as directed by the Patient Accounts Director.
  • Greet incoming visitors.
  • Answer phones and assist callers or route to the appropriate personnel.

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
  • Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.
  • Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
  • Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with patients and other visitors.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with visitors and co-workers.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to sort alphabetically and numerically.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Attentions to detail and to work with frequent interruptions.


WORKING CONDITIONS


Requires manual dexterity. Position is in an office setting requiring mostly sitting with some standing, reaching, bending, and stooping during the course of each day. The position involves contact either face to face, by email or over the phone with co-workers, visitors and patients.


Physical presence onsite of essential. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
