Receptionist 20-25 Hours Jobs

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist is part of team that greets lobby visitors, answers, screens and transfers calls for the agency and provides customer service support to patients, visitors and staff. The Receptionist assists with scheduling, rescheduling and canceling of appointments; registering patients; answering patient questions; and checking insurance eligibility.

This is part time, 20 - 25 hours per week. Our core hours are 8:30 am -5:00 pm

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and properly route calls or take messages, return calls, check phone queue to monitor calls on-hold.
• Relay patient questions, requests and other calls to the appropriate person/department.
• Participate inquality assurance and patient education and health promotion activities.
• Resolve patient inquiries, complaints or concerns regarding their accounts or appointments.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Collect, update and verify all pertinent patient demographic and insurance information. Verifiy eligibility information.
• Schedule, reschedule and/or cancel medical appointments as requested by the patient and in accordance with AACIs Appointment Scheduling Policy.
• Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential backgrounds.
• Experience using electronic practice management system such as EPIC is strongly preferred.
• Attention to detail
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Collect payments from patients in accordance with AACIs policies of handling cash.
• Fluent in Spanish or Mandarin highly desired
• Computer skills including proficiency in data entry, internet use and Microsoft office applications
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of information
• Demonstrated basic problem-solving ability
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Assist with referral process.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Communicate with outside specialists offices, and other clinics and hospitals.
• Communicate regularly on the status of operations, patient access, medical records, insurance coverage updates and any other related issues.
• High level of customer service skills.
• Provide administrative support to health care providers and management.
