Job Description

:

• Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and back-end developers to create user-friendly interfaces for Southwest Airlines' mobile single-page application.

• Develop responsive and scalable UI components using React.js and React Native frameworks, ensuring compatibility across various devices and browsers.

• Implement front-end designs using HTML and CSS, adhering to industry best practices and accessibility standards.

• Optimize application performance and user experience by leveraging code optimization techniques and efficient rendering methods.

• Work closely with the development team to integrate front-end components with back-end services and APIs.

• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of UI components to ensure high-quality and bug-free code.

• Collaborate with the UX team to improve the usability and visual appeal of the application, providing valuable insights and suggesting enhancements.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team.

• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings, to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

• Collaborate with QA engineers to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit testing and end-to-end testing.

• Document front-end development processes, guidelines, and standards to maintain code quality and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

• Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues reported by users or identified during testing phases.

• Adhere to Southwest Airlines' security and data protection policies throughout the development lifecycle.


Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Strong proficiency in React.js and React Native, with a demonstrated track record of delivering successful projects using these frameworks.

• Solid programming skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a deep understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance optimization techniques.

• Experience working within an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and

Confluence.

• Proven experience developing customer-facing applications in an enterprise-level company.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating front-end components with back-end services.

• Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git, and code collaboration tools like GitHub or

Bitbucket.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team

environment.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical

and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a proactive team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with TypeScript and/or Redux.

• Knowledge of responsive design principles and techniques.

• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and best practices.

• Experience with automated testing frameworks, such as Jest or Enzyme.

• Understanding of performance optimization techniques for mobile applications.

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.

• Previous experience in the travel or airline industry is a plus.
