One of Esteemed's government consulting partners is seeking a UI/UX Front End Drupal Developer for a long-term contract engagement.
*Candidates must be able to work W2 in the US without sponsorship. No C2C*
The UI/UX designer will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of our various digital assets. ensuring that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design. The UI/UX designer will work closely with developers to ensure seamless web/mobile design and the successful implementation of UI/UX best practices and principles across all our digital platforms. The successful candidate will evidence a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX design problems by staying up to date with best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.
Responsibilities:
- Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and roles.
- Conduct interaction design to accommodate interactive behaviors, think actions and reactions, and incorporate typical user behavior;
- Lead the software development and testing case development;
- Accomplish visual design including visual appeal, differences in terms of typography, and overall purpose to build an aesthetically pleasing site;
- Conduct content strategy including analyzing content, understanding what content users prefer in the given context, and how much of it should be text or images;
- Provide system environment background, specifications, and background information;
- Focus on users and tasks using metrics to understand what works and what does not work, and change by iterating;
- Develops functional and technical specifications;
- Focus on usability and analytics to measure the quality of user experience;
- Develop information architecture to present information in meaningful way;
- Produce deliverables related to the application installation and configuration;
- Help build and document specifications for development;
- Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication;
- Responsible for designing and developing web software and application system;
- Conduct user research including observation, personal interviews, and user forms and surveys;
- Update and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix;
- Provide post-implementation support, as required;
Requirements:
- Able to think critically, exercise sound judgment, ask questions and be open to the input and decisions of others; both independently and collaboratively lead, solve problems, make decisions and manage change;
- Experience designing, logos, graphics, infographics, diagrams, workflows, concept mapping, storyboarding;
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s/Advanced Degree from an accredited university or college, with a preference for a degree in Technical Design or a similar computer related field;
- Experience with design for accessibility to include Section 508 and WCAG standards;
- Strong organizational, administrative and project coordination skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities;
- Experience with HTML based websites. HTML, HTML5, CSS, Javascript;
- Demonstrate an understanding of modern design trends including print, graphic, mobile, and web;
- Familiarity or experience supporting journey mapping, users’ stories, personas, content flow;
- Experience developing wireframes, mockups, presentations, and responsive design.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to network, collaborate and build relationships with clients, partners, staff, remote colleagues and others;
- Strong understanding of user experience and human-centered design;
- At least 5 years’ experience with a background in design for multiple mediums (print, digital, applications, etc.);
- Experience working with Government contracts;
- Computer, Internet, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience and proficiency required; experience with video meetings/conferencing; ability to adapt quickly to new applications.
- Effective written and spoken communication skills with the ability to effectively facilitate online or in-person meetings;
