AN R&D SCIENTIST FOR OILFIELD CHEMICALS

Oleon worldwide presence stands out with R&D center based in France, Belgium, Germany and Malaysia. The recent setup of a new R&D laboratory in Conroe, TX is in line with our customer intimacy policy in order to be closer to the American market. This new research facility is a satellite of the strong R&D center based in Europe. This offer is then the occasion to gain experience on project management for oil and gas related projects from ideation to industrial production, work in autonomy within a dynamic team to propose innovation solutions to our American customers. Your contribution will then assist to grow this new R&D center in term of project pipeline, development of products and team expansion.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

• Developing experimental, analytical and application test protocols and carrying them out is also a key responsibility.
• You will actively and proactively contribute to safety in the workplace. Respecting and enforcing safety practices and aiding in its continuous improvement will be a top priority.
• You participate in the continuous improvement of the organization of the service and interactions with other services.
• You will provide technical support to sales teams and customers through application.
• You will report to the Oil & Gas R&D team leader based in France.
• You will manage Oil & Gas related R&D projects comprising drilling application, from idea to the first industrial batches. You will guarantee progress in terms of achieving objectives and respect of timing, by carrying out the laboratory work in accordance with defined good practices. You will also ensure a fluid follow-up of the work with the rest of the team.
• You will keep yourself up to date though literature research and technology watch.
• You will occasionally travel to Europe.

EXPERIENCE

• You know how to contribute for a positive, stimulating and international team environment
• You have the ability to work in a deadline driven environment and are able to manage several projects simultaneously.
• You have a Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering with experience in Oil and Gas applications.
• You have an analytical mind, creativity, problem management and customer orientation.
• You have a background in physico-chemistry and applicative laboratory tests, preferably oil & gas related.
