Job Description
Research Technician
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Support R&D of process and product through testing and measurements with existing equipment
  2. Perform upgrades and basic maintenance of lab equipment and instrumentation
  3. Help design and develop new measurement and characterization methods including software development for data acquisition
  4. Hands on fabrication and assembly of new and Client equipment and instrumentation for process and product characterization
  5. Assist with planning, coordinating, executing, documenting, and communicating results from complex experiments both in the lab and at production facilities
  6. Desired Skills/Experience:
  7. Experience supporting and maintaining R&D equipment and instruments.
  8. Knowledge and proficiency in basic electrical circuitry and design with active components
  9. Skilled in the use of testing equipment, instrumentation tools, and mechanical systems.
  10. Strong background in computers and hardware
  11. Experience in writing robust code in one or more of Python, C, C++, LabVIEW
  12. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  13. Aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on laboratory work, and accurately document procedures and results
  14. Adhere to safe work practices and compliance with all environmental, health, safety and security protocols.
  15. Able to come up to speed quickly and perform effectively on new projects or those the incumbent has not worked on for some time
  16. Additional Desirable Skills:
  17. Knowledge and experience in statistics and data analytics
  18. Development of vision systems and image analysis
  19. Methods and algorithms for machine learning
  20. Education:
  21. Associates Degree or higher in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Instrumentation Technology
  22. Bachelor's Degree preferred
