Job Description
Position Summary:
Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital
Opening its doors on January 30, 2021, Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital is an acute care facility serving Horizon West and the surrounding west Orange County communities — seamlessly integrated with the emergency department and medical pavilion that began serving the community in 2018. With the latest technology and expertise in numerous areas of specialty, Orlando Health Horizon West features four complete operating suites with a robotic surgery program, two endoscopy/bronchoscopy suites for lung and gastrointestinal care, cardiac catheterization labs and cardio diagnostic space, nuclear medicine and CT imaging. A comprehensive, 24-hour Emergency Department with 24 exam rooms and six observation rooms treats both adults and children. The adjacent Orlando Health Medical Pavilion – Horizon West houses various specialist and primary care physician practices as well as outpatient services and a center for health improvement. To meet the needs of Florida’s growing northwest Osceola County and surrounding region, the hospital also will provide services at a stand-alone Orlando Health Emergency Room located in the Reunion Village development in Davenport, scheduled to open in early 2022. The full-service ER will include up to 12 treatment rooms, complete imaging and laboratory services, and a helipad for air ambulance service.

Horizon West Hospital is seeking Radiology Technologist. The Radiologist Technologist provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
  • Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Assessesthe patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Maintains reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.

Qualifications:
Education/Training

Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida and
