Job Description

Title:

Radar/IFF Electronics Technician

KBR is seeking a junior level Radar/IFF Electronics Technician II, with multi-discipline skills in support of the Wallops Island SCSC located at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Wallops Island, VA.

This is an SCA position.

Position Description:

Responsible for study, design, specification, and services related to electrical and electronic systems including power generation, transmission and distribution, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centers, communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding lightning protection, heat tracing etc. Under direct supervision, performs assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Uses judgment in making selections and adaptation of engineering alternatives. Performs specific and well-defined assignments.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in aircraft and weapons systems, shipboard combat systems, hardware, instrumentation, or IT networking/security.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Required Education:

High school graduate or equivalency certification. Successful completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or successful completion of at least 15 semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.

Security Clearance Requirement: Secret OR able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
