Quarry Assistant Plant Manager

Rockydale Quarries Corporation, an established aggregate producer in the State of Virginia, is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for their quarry located in Staunton, VA.

This position is responsible for maintaining the safe and productive daily operation of the quarry. Individual should have exposure to and/or experience with pre-shift and on-shift work area exams, state and federal laws regulating surface mines, yard loading, primary, secondary and tertiary crushing plants, maintenance planning and execution, and continuous improvement.

This position is responsible for managing hourly personnel and interacting with the quarry, scale house, and sales teams to meet or exceed budgets. Must possess strong leadership and problem solving abilities, with a demonstrated work history driving workplace safety and employee management

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the mining industry, preferably in the surface aggregate industry is required. A portion of the experience minimum may be waived if the applicant possesses a 4-year degree in Mining Engineering or another degree related to the mining field. Must possess or be able to obtain within 3 months of hire a first-aid card and Virginia DMME Mine Foreman Certification. VDOT sampling Certification in Central Mix Aggregates is desired, but not required. Strong computer, organizational, communication, and leadership skills are required.
