Job description

The Quality Assurance, Systems and Compliance Manager is a dual role fulfilling the Quality Assurance requirements for the Distribution / Warehouse (AS9120) operations and administration of the overarching Quality Management Systems for Services Americas. The individual will be responsible for sustaining and improving an effective quality management system that complies with all applicable customer, ISO9001 / AS91XX standards, Group Policies, and regulatory requirements. The individual will be a key contributor and leader in conducting internal audits of varying complexity and scope on all Distribution / Warehouse operations and assist within other Services Americas businesses. They will represent the Distribution organization during regulatory, certification and customer audits and will coordinate, with corporate Quality, and represent Services Americas for AS91XX external audits. The Quality Assurance, Systems and Compliance Manager will define and monitor, as applicable, employee training programs within the Distribution organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including, but not limited to; the FAA and DOT. Utilizing KPI's provided by the operational unit, the individual will provide support to address supply chain quality issues and improvement plans. The Quality Assurance, Systems and Compliance Manager will assist the operational unit with corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Guides the activities for the verification of all OEM recalls, provides external communications letters, if required, and ensures segregation of affected material held at the distribution site.
  • Provides governance of quality related policy by coordinating the integration of Group Policies, Procedures, Processes and applicable regulations within the Distribution organization and Services Americas.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Quality
  • Provides support for completion of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions
  • Develops and executes internal audit plan to schedule and provides information and metrics to focus operations on corrective and preventive action plans for the Distribution Operations.
  • Ensures the quality management system, inclusive of the AS91XX Quality Control and Procedures Manuals, is current, confirms operational compliance via audit / reporting, as appropriate, and initiates corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and report departmental and operational KPI's as they relate to Quality Assurance
  • Responsible for maintaining the list of tools for calibration and notification of operations when calibration due within the Distribution operations.
  • Develops positive relationships and effective lines of communication with suppliers, regulators and group colleagues.

Job requirements

  • Knowledge of Lean / Continuous Improvement Practices
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 2 years' experience in a quality assurance role in a FAA Part 145 environment is preferred.
  • 10 years' experience in quality assurance with at least 4 years of those in an aviation parts distribution operation and AS9120 audit.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications; MSOutlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Highly experienced and proficient at problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Strong record keeping and organizational skills

Specificity of the job

  • Ability to travel domestically 10-20% of the time and internationally 5% of the time
