The Quality Manager’s mission is to develop the quality management system’s activities and group-wide quality control strategies aimed at operational excellence and customer satisfaction. You establish quality practices, programs and standards aimed at improving current and future operational results. You conduct quality audits and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues within units to ensure that corrective actions taken meet requirements. You also build a mobilized and competent team and support their efforts while nurturing a strong culture of continuous improvement. As a result, you help achieve manufacturing objectives and optimize units’ operational efficiency by positively influencing performance, operating costs, process and product quality, and delivery times.

Individual responsibilities

Accountable

  • Achieve and maintain the targeted standards and certifications
  • Engage and develop all your employees
  • Align the units’ action plans and production objectives with your group’s strategies
  • Establish, implement and optimize best practices and operational efficiency tools for quality programs

Responsible

  • Contribute to improving quality processes, products and testing
  • Contribute to developing and modifying products and processes as the customer’s representative to ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements
  • Contribute to resolving technical problems within the units by coordinating and facilitating meetings in collaboration with the various stakeholders
  • Develop performance indicators and ensure their implementation and follow-up
  • Plan and carry out internal and external quality audits
  • Approve control plans and qualify new products and processes in production
  • Ensure the management of non-conformities and the complaint system
  • Monitor corrective and preventive actions (internal and external) with managers and offer them the necessary support to ensure their effectiveness
  • Review quality results with plant and group management
Experiences and strengths

  • Keen sense of collaboration to communicate effectively with stakeholders from various levels of the organization
  • Rigour and agility to handle projects based on their scope, budget and timelines
  • Ability to support and advise business partners in analyzing their needs and finding solutions
  • Ability to deal with change and to propose favourable adaptation conditions that take into account the challenges and risks within the company’s overall context
  • Ability to act and react quickly while working on a number of files at the same time
  • Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset)
  • Expertise and persuasiveness to encourage buy-in to proposed solutions
  • Excellent written and spoken English to support professional interactions
  • Extensive experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Agility needed to work with various technological tools
