General Summary:

This position has primary responsibility for all quality assurance and quality control activities ensuring that they are incorporated throughout all systems and processes. The individual will develop, implement, maintain, and direct quality systems used to measure, monitor, and control products to prevent or eliminate defects. In addition, they will define the parameters and develop appropriate end of line testing including setting acceptable limits for the results.


Furthermore, they must be well versed in the use and application of problem-solving tools, troubleshooting, and process improvement that supports the implementation and maintaining of Lean Manufacturing Systems, Greenheck Production System, and all other Greenheck initiatives.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recommend revision of specifications.
  • Integration of the VOC into new product designs and processes
  • Interfaces with all other engineering functions within an organization and with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.
  • May conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools.
  • Formulates or helps formulate quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Conducting audits
  • Work jointly with purchasing to establish expectations of supplier quality, evaluate suppliers, issuing and maintain reports on supplier performance.
  • Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
  • Creation, implementation, and management of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Develop and implement quality standards and control systems.
  • Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance.
  • Working with internal and external suppliers to ensure materials, components, and assemblies meet the design and quality requirements
  • Design quality standards, inspect materials, equipment, processes, and products, develop quality control systems, and determine corrective actions.
  • Development of appropriate tests and inspections to ensure that process controls are effective
  • Monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs


Business Unit Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Working with customers to resolve any quality issues through the application of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving tools such as 5 Why, 8D, Cause, and Effect / Ishikawa diagrams, etc., and implementing effective countermeasures to prevent the issue from re-occurring
  • Conduct and/or attend meetings to establish, delineate and review quality assurance program organizational policies, coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
  • This position will work with design teams and manufacturing teams to institute quality standards for products and their associated production processes.
  • The individual must understand process capability and the use of (Statistical Process Control) SPC in monitoring the manufacturing processes
  • Ensure that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained; report to management on the performance of the quality management system and any need for improvement; and ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Provide supervision and technical guidance to Quality Assurance team members.


Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in coils or related manufacturing is preferred.
  • Lean or six sigma methodology is preferred.
  • Between 5-7 years of work experience in Quality Assurance is preferred.
  • Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program.
