ABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity. With ABB AbilityTM enabled digital solutions at its core, our extensive portfolio includes distribution automation products, switching, limiting, measuring and sensing devices, switchgear, modular substation packages, and related services. The role reports to the Quality Manager and is located in Pinetops, North Carolina. As a Quality Inspector, you will be required to verify quality work has been completed in functions such as incoming inspection, fabrication, assembly, casting and/or shipping.

Your responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Assist other QC Personnel, Operators, Assemblers, etc. when quality questions arise
• Train other employees
• Inspect, examine, and observe for product or equipment defects
• Inspect and troubleshoot any defects or discrepancies in conformity
• Perform inspections using measurement tooling (calipers, gauges, meters, etc.)

Your background

• Good written and oral communication skills
• Manufacturing plant and offsite warehouse environments
• Knowledge in using tools, such as a screwdriver, crimper, and air gun
• 1 year experience in quality
• 1 year of experience in manufacturing environment, assembly or casting preferred
• Ability and willingness to climb ladders, stand/walk for long periods of time
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
• Ability and willingness to read and interpret technical drawings and models
• Ability to work with teams and deliver feedback to operators concerning identified issues
• Desired experience in SAP and Windchill
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States
• Experience using computers Microsoft office apps like excel, word and web applications
• Initiative, teamwork, flexibility & attention to detail
• Work along of as a member of a team
