Position Summary:
Working in a variety of settings, quality control technicians are responsible for maintaining quality assurance processes, testing products and recording and analyzing results data during product development and manufacturing. Reporting to Quality Control Supervisor and Quality Director, quality control technicians follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to best production practices and product quality standards, as well as monitoring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of product output.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, and corrective actions.
· Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
· Responsible for monitoring of product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
· Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
· Responsible for maintaining the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), including swabbing, incubation and recording results.
· Ensures adherence and educates employees on food safety and SQF Standards
· Collect product samples for product development; retain samples and lab samples as needed.
· Performs inspections on product, equipment and machinery.
· Responsible for keeping Food Safety Documents in control and assisting production workers with food safety concerns.
· Conducts and documents pre-operational and changeover inspections.
· Records all test and inspection results accurately on company forms and adequately documents corrective actions.
· Communicates and collaborates regularly with other QA Technicians and superiors, operations to ensure that quality and food safety imperatives are met while ensuring efficient manufacture of finished goods.
· Reviews daily quality monitoring documents for compliance with company policies and addresses issues as necessary.
· Utilizes QA hold program as necessary to ensure that non-conforming products are separated from the supply chain for further evaluation.
· Participates in routine facility GMP and safety audits and manages corrective action reports with cross functional leaders.
· Participates in employee food safety training programs and records to ensure that company policy is adhered to.
· Supports consumer complaint investigations and works with other plant leaders to determine corrective action.
· Participates in 3rd party audits as necessary.
· Conducts equipment calibration, inventory management, and laboratory housekeeping duties.
· Trains front line staff and implements new methods as necessary to ensure product specifications are achieved in manufacturing at all times
· Any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· A GED from High School or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of the following: Food Science, Quality, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry or 1 years working in related fields.
· Communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.
· Audit Experience, SQF, Third Party GMP's
· PCQI/ HACCP Certification preferred but not required
· Bilingual (Spanish)
