Quality Control Technician Jobs

Ingredient & Product QC & Approval:

• Approve received ingredients and packaging.
• Ensure that the correct, in-spec raw material and packaging are used for production.
• Record internal test results and update all associated documentation on the above as directed.
• Ensure that only quality products are produced and shipped.
• Approve finished products for final shipment to market.
• Remove defective products that are discovered during the production process.
• Monitor every stage of production to avoid product defects, discrepancies, improper documentation, and noncompliance.

Sampling & Equipment Calibration:

• Perform environmental and allergen swabs as scheduled and as needed.
• Ensure measuring equipment is functioning properly and call repairs when faulty or out-of-spec.
• Collect representative product samples for shelf-life study, retention, and 3rd-party laboratory analysis.

Regulations, Audits, Company Policy, & Documentation:

• Encourage and enforce cleanliness on the part of the staff and ensure safe and sanitary working conditions.
• Co-operate with government agencies during inspections to meet and maintain high standards of production.
• Assist with review of and updates to Quality Department policies.
• Engage and assist with corrective actions in compliance with regulations, audits, company policy.
• Work with the QA and other Managers to maintain and complete all documentation for the purpose of audits and regulations.
• Initiate training for workers concerning safety programs to protect employees against work hazards.

Misc:

• Work with the R&D Department to find solutions to customers’ complaints and feedback.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Constant updating of job knowledge by reading technical publications, participating in seminars and other educational opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

• Flexibility to work a 4 day/week-10 hour/day schedule.
• Experience with Food Facility and Manufacturing Audits
• A Background in Food Science or a Related Major
• Experience with Netsuite or a Similar ERP System
• Experience of 1 (One) Year or more of work in a Food Manufacturing Facility
