Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.

  • This position includes working on Weekends (40 hour week working on weekend and 2 days Mon-Fri)

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs occasional quality audits of laboratory and production work instructions to ensure compliance to the company’s Quality Policy.
  • Evaluates retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
  • Sets up, adjusts, calibrates, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such paint guns, mixers, viscometers, chemical balances, pH meters, gloss meters, solids analyzer, spectrophotometer, and other equipment.
  • Conducts in-coming raw materials testing, ensuring conformance to required specifications.
  • Performs routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.
  • Records test results on batch tickets and in company’s computer operating system.
  • Organizes and maintains quality records and retains of production batches.
  • Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
  • Verifies formula and component specifications on batch tickets.

Qualifications
  • Ability to clearly identify and communicate issues that need to be addressed and to take the necessary steps to avoid future errors.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field preferred.
  • Inspection, test and product evaluation experience
  • General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
