Job and Ideal Candidate:

Our lab technicians work daily to prepare tissue samples to be read by our dermatopathologist. You will be documenting patient biopsies and working in our lab to embed, cut, stain, and mount tissue biopsy samples. Our lab technician team handles all things related to biopsy sample processing and is an integral part of making an impact on our patient's lives. Our lab techs handle specimen sorting, grossing, and full processing and work closely with our dermatopathologist to ensure each sample is processed efficiently and accurately.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science (biology, chemistry, etc.) from an accredited 4-year university, or equivalent laboratory certification, such as MLT or histotechnician
• Some lab experience is preferred, but not required
• Proven track record of working well on teams and delivering excellence
• Excellent verbal and written skills required
• Must type at least 50wpm

Schedule:

Our lab technicians work 4 - 5 days a week for an average of 36-40 hours per week. This position is based out of the Briargate office.

Reviews:

Vanguard Skin Specialists believes in providing regular feedback and encouraging professional development. Your first informal check-in with HR will be approximately 90 days from your date of hire, after that you will be included in the next of our upcoming semi-annual spring or fall review cycles for your formal reviews. This will be your first compensation review, and thereafter your compensation reviews will occur in that cycle (fall or spring) annually. You will receive hands-on, written, and online training for your role. Lab Technicians are expected to pass exams relevant to their role to remain employed and to progress.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation is $21-29 per hour with eligibility for overtime. The practice covers a portion of the premium for medical benefits and also offers vision, dental, and 401K. The position also comes with paid time off, graduate school stipend, bereavement pay, paid maternity & bonding leave, employee discounts on products and aesthetic services.

Physical Working Conditions:

• Can identify color on the computer and software used
• Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds
• Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, printer, copier, scanner, or fax
• Be able to communicate accurately, effectively and frequently
• Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 10 hours
