Quality Assurance Technician – 2nd shift

The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and auditing to ensure receipt, manufacture, and storage of quality raw materials, packaging, in-process and finished goods at the Bethlehem manufacturing location. Functions effectively as a cross-functional project team member in providing technical expertise, assistance/support to manufacturing floor, R&D activities, and implementation of Technical Services/ Operations-driven initiatives. Takes a firm and confident stance to uphold Quality and Safety.

Key responsibilities of this position are:

• Actively participate as a cross-functional team member to gain insight and develop understanding of problem solving, troubleshooting and driving effective corrective action.
• Audit ongoing daily processes to ensure production of high-quality finished product, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance. Collect, record, and analyze data necessary to support Company initiatives.
• Support testing for package design changes, manufacturing procedure changes, base formulation changes, and alternative suppliers of packaging materials or ingredients. Develop skill sets to evaluate, assess, and differentiate amongst key product attributes.
• Complete verifications for production equipment such as in-line check weighers and metal detectors.
• Assist in production associate training, communication, and executional activities.
• Accurately record necessary information to hold designated product or materials, issue all necessary communications, ensure physical segregation (where appropriate), specify details required for disposition, and ensure completion of hold.
• Conduct validation testing versus declared Certificate of Analysis results of incoming ingredients. Maintain and update records of all testing.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Excellent communications skills.
• B.S. in Food Science or equivalent Science; OR A.S. in Food Science or equivalent Science with minimum one year of experience; OR High School diploma and min. two years technical/manufacturing experience required. Quality and/or Laboratory experience a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
