Job Description
Overview:
Kemin is currently hiring for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team! This position will be actively involved in the disposition of non-conforming inventory, rework, and inventory management. The QA Specialist will collaborate with different departments and business units to develop rework plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Follows and maintains an environment of food and/or feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable.
  • Perform change management tasks.
  • Must follow all procedures and SOPs/forms and assist with updates.
  • Must maintain proper quality documentation.
  • Assist or participate with external audit(s) as needed.
  • Review raw material, finished goods, packaging release, and bring variances forward, as applicable.
  • May collect samples, prepare shipments and inspect raw materials and finished goods.
  • Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.)
  • Investigate nonconformities, as applicable.
  • Prepare communication for customers, under guidance.
  • Review and request supplier documents, as applicable.
  • Pull and send reports as applicable.
  • Provide input for customer questionnaires with supervision, as applicable.
  • Running reports, inputting specifications as defined, as applicable.
  • Perform batch record reviews, with minimal supervision, as applicable.
Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree with 5 years of related experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with up to 3 years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with SPC principles and practices.
  • Must be able to use computer systems; MS Office, M3, LIMS, etc.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Must have mathematical skills.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, inspection or other related experience preferred.
  • Must have and maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct and perform method validation on lab equipment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team.
