Python Developer Jobs

A role as a fully-remote Python Developer is open in a entrepreneurial and fast paced environment. You will be designing and develop technical solutions for the fifth largest insurance brokerage firm, creating coding standards and serving as a strong developer who can help address the needs of the business and development team. Currently, the company is going through a tech renaissance by moving to a Python, React, and AWS centric tech stack.

Required Skills & Experience

• This position reports into Chicago and can be based anywhere in the U.S.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Minimum 7+ years of .relevant development experience
• Previous experience in: JavaScript (Angular/React/Vue), Responsive Framework – Bootstrap, HTML, CSS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, a related field or equivalent work experience.
• A strong understanding of web and application development languages and tools which include the following: Python, Flask, Django

What You Will Be Doing

• Produce high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software.
• Participate/Lead in technical assessment, scoping, and management of changes to the code based on new business requirements, product enhancements and other change requests.
• Collaborate with the development team to produce high-quality, maintainable and scalable software.
• Participate/Lead on architecture/design, development and implementation of custom software solutions, refactoring legacy code, new feature development, and test coverage.

Tools and Technology

• Relational databases and NoSQL databases a plus
• Source Control – VSS, TFS, Git
• Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum) practices.
• Experience with front end development using javascript and react-redux
• Interfaces between web / server-side components
• Experience in SPA/MPA web applications and backend API design (REST)
• Deployment and maintenance of web applications using Python platforms
