The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the purchasing, expediting, maintenance and evaluation of all materials for customer jobs; Negotiates delivery schedules and material prices to meet manufacturing requirements and job cost budgets. Implement instructions for the procurement process and identify and foster relationships with our suppliers and vendors. You will also oversee the implementation of the supply and production strategies.
As the Purchasing Manager on our team, you will:
- Generate pricing documentation for proposal support.
- This list is not all inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the business.
- Evaluate the performance of existing suppliers.
- Determine the extent of control placed on suppliers.
- Qualify new suppliers.
- Maintain accurate general parts inventory to meet manufacturing demands, including sourcing of new parts.
- Address root cause and corrective actions pertaining to supplier nonconformities.
- Negotiate pricing and shipment dates with vendors for single or blanket orders to meet manufacturing requirements and project budgets.
- Expedite materials and material shortages to ensure that the manufacturing efforts are supported.
- Place purchase orders, transfer materials, and enter inventory into company database.
Your Profile:
- Associate degree in business or technical studies with a minimum of 3 years' experience in managing a team, MRP and other ERP tools and a minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement and material control.
- Ability to manage and communicate well with others Ability to analyze performance metrics and trends
- General knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
