Gearbox Publishing is looking for an experienced leader comfortable with the art of game development in a fast-paced environment. The best fit for this position will have the confidence and problem-solving skills to manage development schedules for multiple titles (or a complex schedule for a single large title) and teams while maintaining effective communication with Publishing leadership.
As part of the production team, you’ll be working with a fun, world-class team, and we’re seeking someone with the character, skillset, and drive to have an immediate positive impact.
Responsibilities (About The Job)
  • Collaborate with discipline leads and cross-studio staff to create and manage the project schedule & ensure the schedule is aligned with product goals.
  • Work with business & finance leadership to review project budgets.
  • Ensure that critical path items, such as submission, localization, and QA-related responsibilities are unblocked and well-executed.
  • Support the Studio leadership and contribute to strategic short and long-term planning, development status, and decision-making for the project.
  • Proactively create, maintain, and enforce project plans with which contain all key milestones and associated deliverables in conjunction with production staff and project leads.
Requirements (About You)
  • Must have held a production or leadership position for the majority of a project’s lifecycle, including a product launch.
  • Must have at least 3+ years’ experience as a Producer or Associate Producer leading teams to ship titles.
  • Must thoroughly understand the process behind cross-discipline collaboration and development-driven production.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced team environment and simultaneously manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Current awareness of the video game market and trends.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and can multi-task under pressure
  • Ability to create project plans & monitor the progress of department milestones and individual tasks within those plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Project management & visualization skill with JIRA, Microsoft Project, Hansoft, or other project management software.
Bonus Skills
  • Previous experience in Live Operations production
  • Experience working with mobile games, GaaS games, and/or F2P models
  • Previous experience working with remote development teams
