The CDC Foundation is seeking a Public Health Analyst. This position is a part of multidisciplinary team that will assist health department(s) with their work in identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting associated infections. This position collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies.

Qualifications:


  • Strong quantitative data analysis skills and experience working with SAS, SPSS, STATA, Oracle, Python, R or a similar statistical software package
  • Master’s degree in public health, the social sciences, or a related field and minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree in public health, the social sciences or related field and minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in data collection and analysis, and developing written materials with actionable recommendations
Responsibilities:


  • Independently designs health data projects and assists other program staff to develop, conduct, and evaluate data system studies
  • Produce reports for the purposes of monitoring disease trends to analyze and interpret such data in support of efforts to prevent and respond to COVID-19 and other emerging infectious diseases as allowable through the funding source
  • Manipulate and analyze project-related datasets using SAS, Oracle, Python, R or other statistical applications; create or provide data sets and subsets for specific analyses; and transfer data as imports or downloads between different systems to facilitate data analysis
  • Lead and prepare business requirements for implementation of projects related to system design enhancements for the NJ Disease Surveillance System, CDRSS, enhancements for NoviSurvey projects, or assisting with the CDS' portion of establishing a Master Patient Index function
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across agencies on joint initiatives
  • Support data integration projects utilizing data from public health sources including EDRS, CDRSS, and NJIIS
  • Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and/or maintenance of new or enhanced systems
  • Participate in project-related meetings, perform gap analysis, and prepare change requests for updates needed in CDRSS
  • Support related projects and ensuring timely submission of deliverables
