Position: P/T Hybrid Nutrition Educator (SNAP- Educator, Veggie Butcher)
Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 hour

About the Job:
The YMCA Nutrition Educator (SNAP and Veggie Butcher) will be responsible for implementing at-home virtual nutrition and culinary education to SNAP eligible participants across the DC area.
Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Nutrition Educator include but are not limited to:

• Creates a safe, judgment-free, and encouraging environment that is friendly and non-competitive for participants
• Cultivate participant commitment and support retention of participants by fostering relationships with and between program participants
• Implements virtual at-home nutrition and culinary education classes according to grant and curriculum requirements.
• Encourage group participation and interaction through the use of open-ended questions and other facilitation skills.

Current Shifts Available:

• SNAP - Educator: Evenings and weekends
• Veggie Butcher - June through September weekends 9:00am 1:00pm

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience using Zoom
• Use initiative, independent judgment and problem solving within established procedural guidelines
• 2+ years’ experience in education
• Ability to become Serf Safe certified
• Nutrition or culinary background
