Summary


This position will be responsible for fabricating and assembling prosthetic devices for both In-House and outside customers using our current central fabrication techniques.


Your success will be due to your focus on maintaining the highest quality, solid teamwork, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes. Every day is an adventure because no two days are the same in this exciting, fast-paced manufacturing setting.


Essential Responsibilities


Running the Omega Carvers


Making various prosthetic devices (check sockets, laminations, foam covers, pelite liners, etc.)


Responsible for taking an order from start to finish in timely manner and according to our lead times.


Responsible for following and maintaining various departmental procedures including inventory, cleaning, maintenance, safety equipment.


Essential Skills Required


High School diploma or equivalent GED


Ability to read and write


Basic mathematical skills


Basic computer skills


Ability to work under pressure


Ability to keep up in a fast pace environment


Must be able to work well in a team oriented environment


Must be able to communicate with his/her coworkers


ABC board certified prosthetic technician is a plus


Prosthetic technician experience or knowledge of the prosthetic industry is a plus


Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools (saws, grinders, drills, etc...)


Scope Of The Job


This position has no direct reports or supervisory responsibilities, but will work closely with other technicians and members of the Operations team.


Key Positions With Which This Position Interacts


This position will interact heavily with production employees, department leads and the supervisor of the department. Their will also be some interaction with test participants.


Physical Demands Of The Job


The minimum physical requirements needed to perform this job include:


  • Ability to lift 10 pounds over 2/3 of the time and 25 50 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb 2/3 of the time.
  • Vision ability including both close and distance vision, ability to distinguish colors and ability to bring them into focus.
  • Ability to talk and hear on a regular basis
  • Ability to use hands, fingers and arms over 2/3 of the time


Work Environment


Exposure to the following environmental conditions may apply.


  • Working near moving mechanical parts over 2/3 of the time
  • Working around or near fumes or airborne particles including toxic or caustic chemicals -1/3 2/3 of the time.
  • Working around loud noises (examples: jack hammer work, front row rock concert).
