Job Description
WHY CHA?:
Responsibility connects us, empowers us, binds us to our community, and challenges us to do what is right. Clean water, safe roads, efficient energy, resilient power sources, and buildings that enhance their surroundings – these are significant responsibilities we take to heart.

At CHA, we believe in responsibly improving the world we live in, and we ask our team to aspire to that ideal every day. At the foundation of our responsibility is our commitment to inclusion and diversity and choosing to treat everyone with dignity and equality. We also take accountability for making decisions that promote sustainability in our business and our designs. We are on a mission to reduce our environmental footprint and bring greener solutions to our clients. We believe it is our responsibility and work to do that each and every day.

We are currently seeking a Project Landscape Architect to join our Land Development Team in Brooklyn, NY.

CHA believes our employees should have the time and flexibility to balance work and personal commitments. We offer most employees the option of a hybrid schedule with a work week that includes both office and work from home days.
YOUR IMPACT:
CHA's Land Development team facilitates cooperation among the developer, regulatory agencies, local review boards, consultants, and the community. We give careful consideration to impacts on traffic, stormwater drainage, water and sanitary services, and the environment. With all those moving parts, CHA is the one resource that can plan a project tactically, design it cohesively, permit it seamlessly, and construct it successfully. We have the permitting, engineering, and construction experience to expedite project approvals and deliver projects on time and on budget.

At CHA, the Project Landscape Architect is responsible for the design and planning on a variety of site planning, landscape architecture, and master planning projects including campus & community plans, land use & master plans, and site design for private and public clients. This role will lead the creation of site plans, landscape plans, irrigation design and project detailing from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration as well as participate in public, client, and internal workshops to include presenting data, design and findings and develop written documents, reports, and master plans. The Project Landscape Architect will also complete field assignments, such as data collection and construction observation, when appropriate.

At CHA, the Project Landscape Architect position will be located within the Planning and Landscape Architecture Group. This group services the Land Development and Buildings teams, including both private and public clients, but also the Infrastructure and Power sectors and support projects that increase the sustainability and resiliency of our communities and the environment using a wholistic approach to design that considers the needs of people, flora, and fauna. This position is to support the growth of our Brooklyn, NY office located in the DUMBO area of Brooklyn and a half a block from the iconic Washington Street pedestrian street.

Additionally, the Project Landscape Architect is responsible for developing and supporting the design and planning for a variety of project types including site design, master planning, planting design, and habitat restoration. This role will engage in all aspects of a project from concepting and permitting through construction by leading the creation of visual impact assessments, site feasibility plans, and construction documentation. It is expected that this role will routinely present data, design ideas, and other findings through written documents, oral and visual presentations, and graphic means both internally and externally. The Project Landscape Architect will also complete field assignments, such as data collection and construction observation, when appropriate. This position will provide plan renderings and perspective renderings on a variety of different projects. This position will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of a growth strategy for the Metro and Northern NY areas.

At CHA, you can build a career and find your passion across our diverse business lines and project teams.
