We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and preparing comprehensive project proposals. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the profitability and success of our projects through precise cost estimation and effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements and scope.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and material quantity calculations based on project specifications.
- Obtain and analyze supplier quotes to determine the most competitive pricing for project components.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, including materials, equipment, freight and startup costs, using industry-standard estimating software.
- Collaborate with the management and other departments to review project plans and identify potential risks, constraints, and value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare detailed project proposals, including scope of work, deliverables, cost breakdowns, and schedules.
- Present estimates and proposals to clients, explaining the cost breakdowns and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate effective communication and successful project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry or a similar field.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with wastewater pumps, valves or other plumbing, HVAC products is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
