This position will travel between our NTX and WTX operations.
SUMMARY
The Project Engineer is the first in a series of positions responsible for supporting day-to-day activities of production and quality assurance. The Project Engineer is a champion of the organization’s optimization efforts which includes investigation to data, estimation of cost and time requirements and recommendations on courses of action. This role ensures that these areas and activities are aligned with organizations overall strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Travel is required to the different mine sites
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Designing, developing and testing equipment, process and plant modification and additions.
- Proficient engineering software skills in such systems as Visio, Aggflo and AutoCAD
- Must be able to read, write and speak English at a professional level, as needed to safely and correctly perform job duties
- Hard Rock, Aggregate, Sand & Gravel, or Industrial Minerals process engineering experience
- Brings uniformity and efficiency to systems and procedures
- Works closely with production team to ensure processing objectives are met
- Remains current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure maximum productivity
- Researches and implements applicable process optimization efforts
- All other duties as assigned
- Troubleshoots current operating performance and recommends/implements process improvements
- Monitors processing methods and equipment to improve performance; ensures maximum productivity by optimizing methods and procedures – maximizes operating efficiencies
- Completes special projects as assigned
- Establishes and maintains effective work and communication relationships within departments, ensuring that efficient day to day operational decisions can be achieved
- Bachelor of Science in applicable Engineering field
- Supports and drives Vista’s production planning, quality control, personnel training/development, processes, technology development and other process/operations functions
- Articulates ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of settings
- Promotes and coordinates continuous process improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; strong people skills; excellent organizational skills
- 3-5 years’ experience in engineering
- Provides guidance and counsel to production teams on applicable programs and practices
JOB SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years’ experience in engineering
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; strong people skills; excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Typically bends, stops, and crouches on a regular basis
- Work will be performed in both office and outdoor plant/mine settings
- Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to twenty-five pounds
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Must pass a pre-employment, post-offer drug screen, physical and background check.
