Project Engineer - Automation (Multiple Openings)

Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer —Automation is required to possess, understand, and apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of power system automation and related SEL products (involving software, integration and automation, industrial controls, PLCs, relevant industry protocols—such as IEC-61850, DNP, and Modbus—Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and industry SCADA practices). The incumbent will be expected to apply the principles of electrical engineering and: (i) train and assist customers with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation systems; (ii) complete and implement assigned work within agreed-upon scope, schedule, and budget to a high level of quality and safety; (iii) participate in the preparation of functional design specifications; (iv) prepare and maintain detailed design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and deliverables; (v) provide support for other company marketing, sales, application engineering, and development activities; and (vi) continuously identify, measure, and improve company engineering processes.

TRAVEL:

These full-time positions will be based out of SEL-ES’s headquarters in Pullman, Washington. However, because the company has numerous customers nationwide, some travel is required, as the incumbent will occasionally and on a short-term basis be deployed to various customer sites. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis.

Salary Range: $98,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year.
