Description of Role

SRI Telecom is seeking an experienced Outside Plant Project Director with relevant OSP HFC Construction experience to contribute to all areas of expertise leading various cross functional project teams. This will be a Full Time, Direct Hire position with VerTek, LLC, a multi-million dollar, well capitalized, nationwide OSP construction outfit. You would be responsible for management and oversight of daily operations at the regional office, its resources, implementing the operational plan and ensuring that processes are carried out properly. The Project Director will also oversee construction and fulfillment of project deliverables, billing, invoicing, and managing daily status reporting.


MAJOR TASKS

  • Communicate major milestones and identify potential project risks; conducts regular staff meetings to review project activities and priorities.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
  • Ensure legal compliance with all state and local municipality statutes and regulations.
  • Oversee and assist with the management of client expectations, escalations, and the change management process.
  • Manage weekly billing and invoicing initiative to ensure proper cash flow levels.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of the project closeout documentation/deliverables.
  • Oversees the development and execution of project management plans for scope, cost, time, and quality.
  • Evaluate and align the business processes according to organizational objectives and business goals.
  • Evaluate overall program performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Oversee customer support processes, looking for opportunities to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to translate project requirements into project objectives, pay-point milestone activities, and construction schedules.
  • Evaluate risk from multiple perspectives and create risk registers and action plans as needed.
  • Manage business relationships and SLA agreements with external partners/vendors.
  • Review financial information and optimize business workflows to enhance profitability.
  • Manage the maintenance of project assets such as vehicles, test equipment, tools, etc. ensuring safety and good working condition.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards used in aerial and underground utility construction.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Must be in Phoenix, AZ to report to field and office daily.
  • Project Management Institute - PMP Certified
  • Ten (10) years-experience in utility construction project management, supporting outside plant (OSP) telecommunications services (Telephone, CATV, COAX, Fiber Optics).
  • Outstanding communication and people skills.
  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (Business Management, Finance, Human Resources, Project Management, Utility Construction).
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal/people skills including verbal and written communication skills, integrity, sound judgment and decision-making ability to all organizational levels. The ability to modify the messaging appropriately to various technical, managerial, and leadership audiences is critical for this position.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of extremely sensitive data, records, files, conversations, etc.
  • Team player with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction or Business Management


Work Schedule

Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm in the field and office environment.
