Project Coordinator
Remote w/ Occasional On-Site Requirements (Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia, PA, Chicago, IL)
Long-Term Contract w/ Extension
$40+/hr. DOE
We are hiring a Project Coordinator to join the Work and Asset Management PMO (Project Management Office) team at one of our largest Fortune 100 energy clients in the Baltimore, MD area. The Work and Asset Management PMO team manages numerous multi-faceted projects that support all of our client’s utility companies. With multiple high-impact projects in flight, schedule management is needed to help coordinate project milestones and project direction. Some projects have over 8,000 lines of schedules with multiple interdependencies that need maintenance and operational support. The Scheduler tool the PMO team uses is Microsoft Project, which is a skillset required for success in this role. As the Project Coordinator, you will also coordinate and consolidate status reports, action items, and manage project controls.
As the Project Coordinator, you are highly ambitious with a background in scheduling/document management following a Project Manager career path. You have eagerness to support enterprise-wide projects and are passionate about furthering their career in project management/coordination. Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
- Professional experience with Microsoft Projects and/or MPP.
- Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Professional experience with project controls and schedule management.
- Independent worker with positive and inclusive attitude.
- Knowledge of project management lifecycle.
- Experience with document management, coordinating schedules and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and written/verbal communication.
- 3-5 yrs. of experience in a project support, project coordination or project management role.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tool is a plus!
- CAPM, CSM, PMP or similar certification is a plus!
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Manage project controls (including but not limited to: issues, risks and action items).
- Support operational goals for large projects by tracking milestones, timelines and project controls.
- Using Microsoft Project Plan (MPP), extract data and reports for data visuals and project tracking.
- Understand Project Management disciplines.
- Provide quality assurance to existing schedules for projects in PMO.
- Using Microsoft Projects, manage project schedules surrounding all phases of design, build, test and development.
- Tracking and coordination of attendees in meetings.
- Create and socialize documentation, when needed.
- Analyze project best practices to ensure all projects are in compliance.
- Logistics assistance.
- Support of the Work and Asset Management (WAM) project PMO that consists of multi-year, multi-utility projects.
