Basic Purpose

To organize, facilitate, and coordinate project initiatives from inception through implementation, under the direction, guidance, and mentorship of Project/Program Manager or management. Provide life cycle, day-to-day support to multiple projects and programs of medium to large scope and impact. Demonstrate working knowledge of the business unit’s activities, processes, products, or services. Monitor project/program to ensure adherence to respective methodology. Maintain effective relationships with internal business partners. Produce reports for management and make presentations on project/program progress.
Responsibilities
  • Serve on teams and task groups as SME for projects/initiatives within the business unit &/or across the organization
  • Organize and attend meetings in support of project management initiatives, distribute meeting minutes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Communicate audit results and provide recommendations to Project Manager and/or management
  • Monitor and maintain project/program schedule, documentation, progress and change requests and provide weekly status updates
  • Serve on teams and task groups for projects/initiatives within the business unit &/or across the organization
  • Facilitate project/initiative intakes, working with project teams and leaders to identify dependencies and impacts; communicate issues and provide input to project management plans
  • Assign responsibilities/tasks to project team members based on priority, staff availability, and resources
  • Conduct project audits and review changes to project staffing, scheduling, or resources
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to Project Manager, team, and/or management
  • Collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments
  • Escalate project issues to Project Manager and/or management for resolution
  • Incorporate and leverage industry best practices while maintaining alignment with NFCU goals and capabilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Exposure to principles, practices and activities related to process mapping and lean/agile methodology
  • Basic skill in making presentations to groups of various sizes
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Experience in working with diverse internal contacts at all levels of the organization
  • Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Advanced in the use of PCs and related software packages
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely
  • Effective skill building effective working relationships across all levels of the organization (e.g., staff, management, and stakeholders)
  • Experience in project/program management processes and methodologies

Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, and policies
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Working knowledge/experience with data visualization to include gathering data from various sources (such as ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, HCM system, and other HRIS systems) and compiling into one product

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM (some flexibility)

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.
Salary Range: $27.50 - $42.00 hourly
Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.
