Rockford Construction is looking for a Project Accountant to perform accounting tasks for the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions for assigned construction projects and manage special projects. You will work closely with the Rockford Construction management team to execute company objectives. Some daily tasks include working with sworn statement, purchase orders, contracts, corresponding via phone/email to trade contractors and vendors.

What Will I Do?

• Investigate invoices on hold issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Collect and check sworn statements and tiered lien waivers from subcontractors.
• Create Contracts, Purchase Orders, Change Orders.
• Cut checks using accounting software.
• Process and send out confirmations.
• Enter invoices into accounting software prior to approval being obtained.
• Verify all required documentation is received prior to paying vendors.
• Foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Scan invoices received from vendors and prepare for Project Manager’s approval.
• Answer phone calls / emails from vendors.
• Facilitate vendor discount payments.
• Serve as contact for Accounts Payable problem payables.
• Serve as back-up to team members.

Requirements

• Associates degree in accounting or minimum three years of accounts payable experience. Bachelors preferred.
• Have a working knowledge of MS Office, including strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Accounting software knowledge required. Timberline experience preferred.
• Must possess superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skill.
• Work as a team to meet deadlines as they come
• Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Be a team player!
• Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
