Job Duties

Serving Vital Records customers as part of the Special Services Team; independently performs technical office tasks in support of customers requesting amendments to vital records. Issues or amends vital records and certified copies in accordance with policy, procedures, Code and Regulations. Characteristic activities: Makes determinations for all mail-in customer requests, projects a positive image of service to all internal and external customers, Applies the Code of Virginia to Vital Records requests to determine the best solution for the customer. Corresponds with customers in person, over the phone, and in writing. Processes requests with a high level of accuracy, in a high paced and confidential working environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in a position with final accountability for completing a sensitive or high-risk task with little to no supervision
  • Demonstrated experience applying and processing complex administrative procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience processing customer requests.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a high volume, customer-focused environment.
  • Fluent in Spanish language
  • Direct knowledge of, or experience with vital records operations.
