Typical Responsibilities Of a Program Manager


  • Achieve quality, schedule and budget on assigned projects.
  • Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure that the projects are constructed in accordance with the contract requirements and specifications within quality control parameters and the approved budget.
  • Lead and actively participate in project planning, design, construction and closeout meetings. Provide written meeting minutes.
  • Oversee preparation and approve documents for bid, construction drawings, specifications, turnover packages, as-built drawings, and commissioning protocols.
  • Must work closely with internal and external team members to ensure for a safe work environment of all projects and activities. Responsible for the performance of the contractors in providing a safe jobsite.
  • Develop project cost estimates and secures properly executed contract and purchase order agreements, insurance certificates, bonds and other documents as required to protect the interests of the Corporation.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may jeopardize project schedules or improve project time. Keep manager fully informed in a timely manner with regard to any and all potential problems on a project.
  • Maintain good working relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers and municipal authorities.
  • Develop and conduct Requests for Proposals (RFPs), solicit and obtain bids from contractor and vendors. Issues contracts and purchase orders after appropriate approvals.
  • Monitor or track the review and approval of RFIs and Submittals.
  • Develop project controls and monitor project budgets. Prepare, review and negotiate change orders. Issue change orders to contractors and others and prepare revisions to the project budget.
  • Coordinate assigned engineering capital projects and lead projects through all phases of project delivery including initiation, planning execution and close out.
  • Create detailed and accurate project schedules and execute projects according to GProject Management Methodology.
  • Gains consensus for optimal solution by effectively organizing and presenting proposals to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders; lab leads, EH&S, maintenance, engineering and site services.


Key Responsibilities


Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects in accordance with the project timeline and budget;


Define and manage project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders;


Identify and manage Alnylam deliverables and ensure stakeholders are engaged and responsive;


Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring that project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards as outline in the implementation Statement of Work;


Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, identifying potential problems and implementing solutions to mitigate them;


Monitor and report on project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management;


Develop, manage and report on project financials;


Ensure effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors;


Collaborate and coordinate with Change Management Subject Matter Expert; and


Ensure that all project documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date.


PMO Controls and Reporting


Plan, manage, track and report on full system implementation lifecycle in accordance with Alnylam's PMO standard methodology, templates, and artifacts


Oversee and drive all project team management and controls in accordance with Alnylam's Capabilities methodology (e.g., project planning, scope, issue and risk management, decisions tracking, meeting coordination and minutes, etc.)


Provide regular status reporting to support communication to sponsor, stakeholders, executives and the PMO


Facilitate and document Lessons Learned for completed projects within the portfolio


Adhere to Alnylam templates and standard artifacts


Assist in tracking costs and actuals associated with the Compliance Program


Participate in weekly PMO meetings


Submit weekly time sheets reflecting time allocation across projects


Requirements


  • Advanced business knowledge in Clinical Operations and Clinical Systems
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • PMP or other project management certification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience managing IT projects, especially cross-functional and enterprise-level projects
  • Understanding of data integration and reporting principles in clinical trial management
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • At least 8 years of experience in project management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
