Benefits

This position is included in a bargaining unit of Housing Works’ New York City employees represented by a labor union known as the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union (“RWDSU”). Accordingly, the RWDSU has the exclusive right to bargain over the terms and conditions of employment related to this position and this position may become covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement (a “CBA”) between Housing Works and the RWDSU


Compensation Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually commensurate with experience
Overview
The OASAS Youth Clubhouse will serve as a safe space for LGBTQ youth of color to access peer related support, interventions and coping skills in a nonclinical drop-in program. Youth, ages 18-25 will have the opportunity to engage in programming as an entry way into other clinical services, such as substance use treatment, mental health counseling, primary care, case management and vocational services. The Program Coordinator will provide day to day oversight and coordinate the different elements of the Youth Clubhouse, provide supervision and training to the program staff and peers, schedule and oversee drop in activities on site, and outreach efforts for recruitment, as well as linkage to prevention services and substance use and mental health treatment. The Coordinator will also provide oversight for documentation requirements of contract and internal agency database for client records.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in agency wide integrated care projects related to Ending the Epidemic, such as PrEP and PEP education and linkage to care and Viral Load Suppression efforts for eligible youth participants.
  • Perform various administrative duties and coordinate with the Program Assistant to monitor and order program supplies, food pantry items, hygiene kits, marketing materials, etc.
  • Submit and complete weekly and monthly program reports/dashboard data as required by program and funder.
  • Provides presentations for internal and external programs to promote the clubhouse and Housing Works services.
  • Develop compelling programming that engages priority populations.
  • Provide direct supervision to the Outreach Specialist and Engagement Specialists, who develop and implement program activities
  • Oversee development and implementation of program events, including collaboration with leaders in the targeted community as well as participation in various committees with partnering agencies and coalitions.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including annual review and updates and reporting on quarterly compliance measures.
  • Conduct weekly supervision with program staff and lead regular team meetings
  • Assists as needed with referral activities including linkage to care, reengagement, crisis intervention, and external referrals using a trauma informed approach.
  • Review and approve staff documentation, create and implement training plans as dictated by staff/program needs and ensure program quality assurance and improvement by participating in Quality meetings and quality improvement projects
  • Manage petty cash, incentives, and MetroCard’s distribution and reconciliation as needed.
  • Participate in weekly supervisory sessions with the Assistant Program Director and Managing Director as required.
  • Coordinates participation of supervisees in community events, such as health fairs, LGBT events, testing events, etc.
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Youth clubhouse, including eligibility screening for program participants
  • Coordinate calendar of events on site and activities off site to engage and retain the priority population.
  • Ensure program deliverables and program enrollment are documented per OASAS requirements and via internal electronic health record (eiCARE). Documentation includes daily program participation logs, referrals, group attendance and field trip participation.
