Job Description

Job Overview

The Program Coordinator, Hepatitis C and Drug User Health Education and Training is responsible for supporting activities under the grant-funded New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute Clinical Education Initiative’s Hepatitis C and Drug User Health (HCV/DUH) Center of Excellence. Operated by the Mount Sinai Health System’s Institute for Advanced Medicine, the HCV/DUH Center offers progressive continuing medical education to prescribing clinicians in New York, with the aim to enhance their capacity to deliver high-quality services and to improve patients’ health outcomes. Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Coordinator, Hepatitis C and Drug User Health Education and Training plays a key role in coordinating clinical education activities, including scheduling, marketing, reporting and accreditation.


Job Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains social media outreach plan, and develops social media content and marketing using Canva to promote HCV/DUH Center activities and clinical guideline updates.
  • Coordinates and schedules faculty trainings and presentations and clinical preceptorship programs/mini residencies, both in-person and virtual.
  • Researches, develops and submits of medical education accreditation applications.
  • Maintains an inventory of clinical tools (e.g., clinical cards) and promotional items; distributes orders/mailings in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborates with faculty members to ensure all presentation materials are in-line with HCV/DUH Center standards, branding and guidelines.
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest hepatitis C and drug user health information by regularly reading articles, reviewing clinical guidelines, attending webinars/trainings, etc.
  • During normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm EST), answers CEI Line calls and triages clinical inquiries to the appropriate clinician in a timely fashion.
  • Participates in meetings with HCV/DUH Center team and external partners, as needed (may include travel).
  • Conducts data entry for all clinical education activities and drafts monthly reports.
  • Conducts data entry, outreach, program marketing and coordination of grant-related training events (e.g., conferences, webinars, customized trainings for organizations [in-person and remote], technical assistance for organizations, ECHO tele-mentoring sessions and preceptorship programs).
  • Manage webinar logistics, including scheduling, moderating, data entry and reporting.
  • Conducts needs assessments (e.g., literature reviews, epidemiological data, etc.) as needed to target and guide new clinical education programs.


Qualifications

  • Driver’s license and ability to travel within New York State (required).
  • The candidate should be a self-starter who demonstrates high levels of organization, flexibility, time management, cultural sensitivity and excellent written and oral communication skills, and is able to work with a diverse team.
  • Experience in data entry collection for the purposes of evaluation and research strongly preferred
  • Master’s degree in related field, such as public health, with a working knowledge of hepatitis C and drug user health (required).
  • Experience working in hepatitis C and drug user health programs and/or adult education and curriculum development experience strongly preferred
  • Computer competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; Zoom; Adobe Acrobat; and Canva (required).
