Job Description
Join the Innovation team as a Program Assistant and become an integral part of our exciting Ray of Hope Prize program! If you have a passion for making a positive impact and fostering innovation, this role is perfect for you. As a Program Assistant, you'll work hand-in-hand with our Director of Innovation and Program Manager, ensuring the success of our program participants and contributing to the growth of the Biomimicry Institute.
Your Key Responsibilities
Participant Recruitment: Play a vital role in our annual participant recruitment process for the Ray of Hope Prize. You'll be responsible for managing the application process, conducting technology and startup scouting, and maintaining comprehensive applicant records throughout the evaluation process.
Logistics Coordination: Be a part of creating unforgettable experiences for our participants by coordinating logistics for our hybrid program offerings. From virtual programming to exciting in-person events, you'll ensure everything runs seamlessly.
Program Development & Support: Collaborate with the Program Manager to engage external stakeholders and volunteers, develop training content, and provide valuable support to participants as they progress through our programs.
Data Analysis & Documentation: Dive into participant and alumni metrics, updating our databases regularly. Working closely with other teams, you'll help showcase the achievements of our exceptional participants through various public-facing content.
Project Management & Special Initiatives: Utilize your organizational skills to document and update tasks and projects, ensuring everything is efficiently managed using our project management software. Additionally, you'll be part of exciting special projects like the Ray of Hope Prize video series and Quarterly Innovation Newsletter.
Qualifications We're Looking For
A BA or BS degree in the sciences, engineering, or business is desired.
Knowledge of biomimicry is a plus, but we're also open to training motivated candidates who are eager to learn.
At least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, such as working within startups, project management, or sustainability consulting.
Experience in organizing in-person events is highly desirable, showcasing your ability to create impactful experiences for participants.
Familiarity with database and contact management systems is advantageous.

You are a quick learner, adapting easily to new digital tools and technologies, including G-Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, Box, Slack, Airtable, and Zoom.
Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently are vital for success.
An adaptable and flexible approach is key, especially in our constantly changing remote work environment.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills are essential, making every team member feel heard and valued.
As a self-starter, you take initiative and complete tasks independently, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
