The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Program Aide-Junior Counselor Initiative for the Winston-Salem Area Command, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Job Summary
Assist Youth Development Professionals with reading to members, asking questions and discussing what was read for the day. Assist Youth Development Professionals with camper participation in group activities. Assist Youth Development Professionals with Educational Games and Activities for the groups.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to build and maintain and effective mentor and professional relationship with children and youth. Ability to communicate effectively with campers and camp staff on a daily basis. Ability to motivate, lead activities while under the direction of Key summer staff.
Minimum Qualifications Required
All Boys & Girls Club Program Aides are required to complete a Safe from Harm Packet in its entirety and strictly adhere to all rules and regulations as directed under the Safe From Harm program guidelines. Dress appropriately – modest attire; Be punctual. Be courteous. Be kind. Be patient. Perform all assigned tasks. Respect The Salvation Army staff / Supervisors. Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any problems.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Requires sitting for prolonged periods of time. May require stooping, bending, standing, running, or walking. Work will be performed in a recreational area where there may be noise, or dust; work may be performed indoors or outdoors.
