The Position:


This is a full-time position in our Bellingham, Washington, office.


Duties may include:

  • Managing junior-level wetland staff;
  • Performing wetland-related work, including:
  • Expanding Hamer’s Wetland and Fisheries Division by bringing in new clients;
  • Providing presentations to groups or organizations based on project/study results;
  • Preparing technical reports/ permit documents and communicating with clients & subcontractors;
  • Conducting work year-round in adverse weather and rough terrain;
  • Wetland delineations, wetland ratings, mitigation/wetland restoration planning, and Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) determinations;
  • Collaborating with Hamer staff and teaming partners on various natural resource projects.
  • Reviewing local codes and federal, state and local regulations as they pertain to wetlands and critical areas;
  • Developing and submitting project, research, and grant proposals to various agencies and entities;


Who You Are:


This role is perfect for a wetland professional who has strong self-motivation and an enthusiastic leadership style. You should be able to manage multiple tasks successfully, exhibit scientific writing skills, and have a background in wetland science, botany, and/or soils and hydrology.


The successful candidate must have:

  • A minimum of six years’ experience delineating and characterizing wetlands in the PNW.
  • B.S. degree or higher in an environmental discipline;
  • Experience with plant, soil, and wetland identification in the PNW;

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A PWS Certification (If not, we can help you earn this!);
  • Experience managing projects;
  • Working knowledge of GPS units, Microsoft Office, and state/federal environmental laws and regulations;
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS and fisheries biology is a plus!


Salary:


The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000. More qualified candidates may be offered a higher salary. Relocation expenses may be considered for the right candidate.
