Wetland Restoration Technician Jobs

Basic knowledge and experience with hand tools.

Knowledge of the disaster restoration industry and/or construction industry is required.

High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent work experience.

2+ years of professional experience.

Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and software programs.

Perform physical labor associated with cleanup activities, packing customer's contents, general on-location cleaning, HVAC cleaning, and deodorization of facilities.

Experience with completing wetland delineations in Florida is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of Florida flora and fauna is strongly preferred.

Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation for remote job site locations.

Understand and follow safety and risk management guidelines on the job site, in the office, and while traveling

IICRC certifications preferred (but not required)

Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project

Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and clean equipment appearance

Prepare affected rooms/areas for tear out and set equipment to start the drying process

Set up staging area and equipment for each project

Previous experience leading site visits with agency personnel

Clean driving record and valid driver’s license

Participate in rotating on-call schedule for night/weekend response to 24/7 emergency services

Must be able to pass pulmonary (lung) evaluation and be able to wear a respirator for extended periods

Coordinates land access, field crew progress, and data transfer and management

Knowledge and environmental survey experience in Texas flora, fauna, and ecology

In the field, oversees a crew or works independently on standard tasks, under the direction of a Project Manager

Communicates with client or agency with support from a Project Manager

3 years of experience in wildlife/environmental fieldwork including wetland delineations

Communicate with management and other technicians to maintain efficient production processes.

Prepare rooms/areas for work activities. Set up staging area and equipment for each project.

Perform production processes as directed.

Perform end-of-day/end-of-job cleanup and breakdown. Leave jobsite with a clean and orderly appearance

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance

Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)

1-2 years’ experience in an environmental related field helpful

Five plus years of experience with related skill sets.

Collect, record, manage, and analyze geospatial data using Trimble and ESRI products.

Minimum 2 years of experience managing and/or conducting biological surveys with at least 1 year leading wetland delineation teams.

Strong technical writing and organizational skills.

Ability to work weekends, multiple week shifts away from home, and regularly work in excess of 40 hours per week.

Conduct wetland delineations according to the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineations Manual and applicable regional supplements.

Problem-solving Abilities: Mid-Level wetland biologist should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to address various challenges when in the field and preparing deliverables.

Budget: Able to track and manage budgets.

Proven experience in conducting wetland delineations and preparing associated reports.

Professional certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or Wetland Professional In Training (WPIT) desired.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Wetland Delineation: Ability to delineate using the Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Manual.

Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project.

Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and clean equipment appearance.

Prepare rooms/areas for work activities. Set up staging area and equipment for each project.

Leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance.

Perform production processes following SERVPRO® production guidelines, work order, and crew chief directions.

Ensure clear communication with crew chief and other technicians (especially regarding customer needs and concerns).

General building maintenance skills, cleaning knowledge, and experience doing fire/water restoration work is a plus

Must have experience with power tools

Fire / Soot Clean up experience

Very good verbal and written communication skills are required

5+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience and management experience.

Assist in the management and monitoring of stream and wetland mitigation banks.

Strong interpersonal skills and experienced with effectively communicating with clients and agency.

Oversee and manage multiple projects within client’s scope, budget, schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on all project deliverables.

Working knowledge of field techniques for wetland delineations, plant identification, soil sampling and threatened and endangered species studies.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

Designing and implementing wetland restoration projects, including hydrological modifications, re-vegetation plans, and invasive species management.

Monitoring and evaluating the success of wetland restoration efforts and recommending adaptive management strategies.

Project Management And Client Engagement

Collaborating with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to address permitting requirements and facilitate project approvals.

Engaging with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure client satisfaction.

Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification from the Society of Wetland Scientists is required.

The RT completes the process of preserving structural items and contents according to the Project Supervisor’s instructions.

The RT informs the Project Supervisor of the equipment and materials needed to complete the assignment properly and on schedule.

The RT is responsible for personnel documentation, hours, and work performed on a given shift.

The RT is resourceful in initiating results in time savings and cost savings for the project.

The RT practices on-the-job safety and encourages safety amongst the labor force.

Experience with plant, soil, and wetland identification in the PNW;

A minimum of six years’ experience delineating and characterizing wetlands in the PNW.

A PWS Certification (If not, we can help you earn this!);

Working knowledge of GPS units, Microsoft Office, and state/federal environmental laws and regulations;

Knowledge of ArcGIS and fisheries biology is a plus!

Wetland delineations, wetland ratings, mitigation/wetland restoration planning, and Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) determinations;
