Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This Position is located in Lawrance or Topeka, Kansas, and is within the Division of Program & Project Management with potential to work remotely based on work experience. This position will play a vital role in not only the operation of Program and Project Management, but the entire Agency. The employee will serve as support staff for the current assistant director related to all things programming. This includes aiding with the development of projects for the statewide multi-year highway improvement program, set-aside programs and assist with project and program controls. The employee will actively work with division staff, other divisions, program management consultants and agency executives throughout the process of reviewing completed work and work in progress. The employee will work to learn about KDOT’s Enhanced Priority Formula System (EPFS) and serve as backup to the assistant director. There will be limited travel required for this position, however there will be some. With a two-year rolling program, there will be local consultation required every two years. This includes traveling throughout the state to meet locals, gather input, and then use the input to aid with project scoring and ultimately, project selection.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a B.S. in Engineering.

Licensing & Certification

  • Drivers License.
  • Professional Engineering License recognized by the Kansas Board of Technical Professions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of supervisory or project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to become proficient in using databases and perform data analysis.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
