Job Description
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH LARGE CAPITAL EQUIPMENT or Complex electrical/mechanical assemblies or equipment.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting and delivering all orders from the Global Sales Service centers for the XRM Versa and Ultra production lines covering both shifts. It will require a self-motivated and driven individual, with the ability to build, motivate, maintain, and inspire a high performing production team of 15-20 technicians with direct involvement on the production floor. When necessary, they must be able to interact and be a liaison to internal customers and suppliers regarding both production and process issues while building relationships and understanding the different needs. There is an expectation that at times, this individual will also participate in the activities on the production floor in support of meeting the customer ship dates. There will be involvement and/or ownership in the continuous improvement of the production processes following and implementing best lean practices. This is a highly visible position, and the candidate should have experience with similar responsibilities, and be able to bring leadership and structure to a dynamic, fast paced environment requiring confidence and excellent communication skills. This position will work closely with most of the adjacent internal departments: Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing/Warehouse, Sales Administration, Service, Customer Service, Engineering and Finance.
Key Performance Metrics
  • Budget: monitor budget, expenditures and job variances and correct as needed
  • On Time Delivery: delivery to customer/production schedule
  • Cycle Time: days to complete systems with improvements goal
  • Labor: Direct monitoring, coordinating and reporting of indirect and direct labor activities
  • Rework: rework labor reduction and setting of goals to meet target
  • Lead and coordinate the Versa/Ultra a ssembly, incoming inspection, and packaging teams within the production department to meet weekly and monthly output targets as defined by the management team in support of the customer orders and sales forecast
  • Work closely with the Engineering teams to verify procedures are adhered to and continually improve the manufacturing process to ensure costs are minimized, output is maximized, and quality standards are maintained
  • Coordinate all the necessary training, and coach/mentor the staff to support Zeiss’ employee development and career growth programs
  • Manage the production process to ensure all dates are met to ensure customers receive quality systems on the agreed delivery dates
  • This position will support the Planning duties and activities and on occasion act as a back up in the weekly slot meeting with management
The annual pay range for this position is $91,200 -$114,000.
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
