Introduction to BlueOval SK
At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers’ experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence.

These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.
The Production Supervisor position at BlueOval SK Battery Park in Stanton, Tennessee will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from ground up.
The BlueOval SK Production Supervisor will lead a respective area and team within the Battery site in Stanton, TN in line with the facility Production System. This role will be responsible for leading a team of hourly employees at the facility including, but not limited to:
  • Address complaints and resolve problems of operators.
  • Report incidents or malfunctions of equipment and inquire maintenance according to the trouble correspondence manual.
  • Responsible for achieving, monitoring, reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Collect and voice opinions when the revision and/or establishment of new work procedures are needed.
  • Manage the on-site logistics of semi-finished products.
  • Coach and train operators to develop production skills and technical/general competencies related to production.
  • Manage MES system and logistics regarding the shift he/she supervises.
  • Monitor and support production environment improvement on light of 3R(Right material, Right quantity, Right position) and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
  • Manage site materials and inventory of the semi-finished products.
  • Build Team Leader and Team Member capability.
  • Confer with other shift leaders to coordinate activities in related departments.
  • Review production schedules and make suggestions on the labor plans to meet the scheduled requirements.
  • Evaluate the operator’s performance and provide productive feedback.
  • Monitor the maintenance and operation status of production equipment in assembly line.
  • Responsible for onsite EHS management activities.
  • Interpret company policies to operators to ensure that safety and proves/ qualities policies are followed.
  • Recommend continuous improvement activities to improve quality and reduce cost.
  • Assign and direct work according to the production plans.
  • Run, monitor, and supervise the production operations listed. The operation is mainly conducted by computer-controlled equipment: (Notching, Vacuum Dry, Stacking, Tap-welding, and Packaging)
  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work.
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks.
  • Manage inventory of the products pending evaluation and the B-graded products.
  • Monitor and inspect he quality of semi-finished products (electrodes).
  • Manage attendance of operators.

Minimum Qualifications and Key Experiences
  • Advanced knowledge of operational tools and procedures obtained through extensive work experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with MES preferred
Preferred Qualifications and Key Experiences
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Experience with LEAN, SPC, Six Sigma programs preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Manufacturing experience including automotive (assembly a plus)
  • 3-5 years of operations experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing especially in electric component and chemical preferred
This individual will have experience managing high degrees of complexity in processes and communication with all levels of leadership. They will rely on their project management skills and strong business acumen to help deliver business requirements.
A collaborative leadership style is necessary to influence and build meaningful relationships with all cross functional teams.

  • Travel is expected throughout 2023 along with future relocation to Tennessee
