Production Resource- Forklift Operator

The position is located at our Food Manufacturing Facility in Wisconsin Rapids, WI

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for staging; and maintaining a constant production flow of fruit through the transfer of fruit from cranberry bin into hoppers. Also, insures the fruit transfer and optical sorter equipment is in operational order.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Removes specified fruit from warehouse and transfers to berry dump area via forklift.

2. Loosens fruit by lifting cranberry bin into a stationary spike system.

3. Dump bins of fruit into hopper to assure continuous flow of fruit through the optical sorter.

4. Responsible for scanning in fruit as well as scanning out SUF fruit.

5. Assures the optical sorter is in functional capacity.

6. Performs periodic magnet inspection, checks fruit temperature, collects fruit samples

7. Disassembles cranberry bin by breaking down and stacking sides; as well as stack bottoms with co-worker.

8. Clean and swab all equipment in the Berry Dump area; and is responsible for overall housekeeping within the Berry Dump area.

9. Properly and completely completes Fruit Delivery Systems operator logs; and weighs and records waste; and over and undersized fruit.

Decision-Making Authority/Accountability Level:

Accountable for the fruit delivery process flow, accurate recordkeeping, and sanitation/housekeeping in the fruit delivery area.

Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

Must have high stacking experience. The employee in this position must be able read and comprehend procedural documentation and follow detailed processes established through SOP & SSOP’s; clearly document data both in hand-written form and through e-mail transactions; and communicate verbally in an effective manner to all members of the Plant. Ability to acquire OSC forklift certification and perform all tasks in a safe manner.
