Production Control Team Leader (1St Shift)

Job Summary:

The Team Leader leads a team of associates for an assigned area to meet or exceed safety, quality, and production goals. This is accomplished by activities including associate training and development, assigning work activities, managing schedules, and working closely with supporting departments. The Team Leader is responsible to report results and abnormalities for the assigned area. This position is Monday-Friday, from 5:00a-1:30p Central.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and provide solutions for delivery issues
• Lead/Participate in Kaizen/5s activities
• Perform root cause analysis using past practice, associate input, and DMAR standards to identify problems
• Work effectively with support departments and teams regarding safety, quality, and productivity
• Be point of contact for daily deliveries
• Develop and maintain a safe working environment to achieve 100% on time delivery (Customer and Production)
• Conduct team meetings
• Develop/Audit standard work practices for PC associates and correct nonconformance
• Train and develop associates
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (includes all non-essential or non-major activities)
• Provide leadership to a team of associates to support daily operations
• Keep inventory accuracy
• Audit training and processes and identify future training needs
• Daily recordkeeping for PC associates including work schedules, time, attendance, PTO, etc.
• Communicate daily operation problems to management
• Ensure company policy education and adherence for all PC associates
• Evaluate, adjust, improve, forecast and help prepare countermeasures to meet department targets
• Communicate results and issues to adjacent shifts

Minimum Level of Education and Training:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Other similar leadership experience or relevant combinations of education and experience may be considered
• Previous or current leadership experience

Minimum Level of Knowledge and Skills:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in basic math
• Proficient use of MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Knowledge of general warehouse and logistics practices including layout and material flow
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and process improvement methods
• Working knowledge of TPS and lean manufacturing techniques
• Leadership skills including coaching, counseling, conflict resolution, and motivating associates

Annual Salary: $55,400-$69,300
