Warehouse Associate Team Leader- Second Shift

As a Warehouse Team Lead at Caterpillar, you will assist the team supervisor in coordinating workflow and training team members. As a team lead, you will be expected to support a culture of inclusion and development within your team. You will promote team relationships, establish team priorities, gather metrics, and generate reports.

Useful Information

• Shift: Second Shift, 3:00pm- 11:00pm
• Starting Pay: $18.00/hr

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Perform material handling and warehousing functions as required
• Ability to work OT when required. Ability to work in the process
• Oversee management of inventory making sure all orders are packed and shipped in standard
• Lead investigations when defects are detected for internal and external customers. Perform daily audits in packout to reduce claims
• Assist with on-the-job training for newly hired warehouse associates
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Operate heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, tuggers, overhead cranes, etc.
• Be a liaison between team members and team supervisor to aide in answering team member on the job questions/concerns
• Demonstrating safety excellence and enforcing safety policies and procedures
• Accountable for tracking quality metrics and meeting Safety, Quality, and Velocity goals in work group

Essential Job Functions

• Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed
• Occasionally lift parts up to 50 pounds individually or 75 pounds as a team lift
• Occasional bending, reaching, and squatting while performing tasks
• Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
• Standing and/or sitting at a desk while performing tasks

Required Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:

• At least one year of team management or team training experience in manufacturing or logistics.
• Ability to maintain accurate and complete records
• Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience
• Experience with growth & development of team members
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, and Access
• Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills
• Good attendance record

Physical Requirements:

• Walk, squat, and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes, be able to climb stairs and ladders, reach overhead and stand for long periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes. Ability to work at elevated heights.
• Willingness to be trained on conveyor functions, start up, clearing jams, troubleshooting, etc.
• Willingness to be trained on forklift, boom lift, tugger, order picker, etc.
• Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.

Additional Information:

• Overtime may be mandatory based on business need.
• Eligibility for employment is contingent on passing all active pre-employment screenings.
• Starting wage is $ 18.00 per hour + $1.50 shift premium
• Openings are in Clayton, OH
• No relocation is offered for this position
